Firesteel is a network of Washington YWCAs committed to ending family homelessness. They share stories and invite all of us to take concrete actions to make sure all Washington families have a safe, healthy, affordable home. We work closely with them on storytelling and social media advocacy, among other activities.
Highlights of our partnership with Firesteel include:
- Some of their most-read blog posts, including the most popular of all time, by our project coordinator Perry Firth, “Why We Keep Walking: Dehumanization and ‘Feeling Good about Felling Bad.”
- The StoryCorps Firesteel website (above), where you can listen to several dozen stories from our StoryCorps “Finding Our Way” project.
- Special events, especially those focused on storytelling.
- Social media training and advocacy to support events like Housing & Homelessness Advocacy Day.
