Our project team hosted our fourth annual campus event in support of Housing and Homelessness Advocacy Day in Olympia, Feb. 2, 2017, hosted by Washington Low Income Housing Alliance on Jan. 31, 2017. We invited all members of the Seattle University community to send a message to lawmakers about the meaning of home.
For one hour on the first floor of Pigott, we asked people to write messages about what home means on heart-shaped sticky notes. We collected them on a large poster that we planned to bring to HHAD in Olympia.
The event was such a success that we brought the posters and supplies with us to Olympia on Feb. 2 to collect even more messages. We also delivered the Seattle U poster to Rep. Roger Goodman of the 45th District to thank him for his work supporting affordable housing legislation.
